Speaker Bio
Juha Yoon, Ph.D., is an incoming Assistant Professor in Intercollegiate & Professional Sport Management at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Her research focuses on sport analytics, the application of artificial intelligence and big data in sport management, and sport technology innovation. She explores the intersection of emerging technologies and strategic decision-making in sport, with a particular interest in how innovation ecosystems are shaping the future of the sport industry. Dr. Yoon has presented her research at more than 40 academic conferences around the world, including in the United States, Canada, England, Norway, Hungary, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Russia, and Korea.
Most recently, Dr. Yoon served as the coordinator of the Sport Management Master’s program, undergraduate program, and on an interim basis, the doctoral program in the Department of Kinesiology within the School of Public Health at Indiana University Bloomington, where she also earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Sport Management. She has taught a wide range of sport management courses, including Sport Analytics, Sport Communication, International Sport Management, Sport Promotions and Public Relations, E-Sports Marketing and Management, Colts Game Day Practicum, and Managing Mega Sport Events.
She is a multiple award-winning scholar, having received the 2022 Indiana University Trustees Teaching Award for her outstanding impact on student learning, as well as the 2023 North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) Service Learning Research Grant, the 2023 Korean American Association for Sport Management (KAASM) Research Grant, and the 2025 Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship from the North American Case Research Association (NACRA), among others.
