Heather Farmer serves as the Assistant Athletics Director of Sport Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where she leads the integration of scientific methodologies and data-informed strategies to optimize athlete health, safety, and performance. Since joining UNLV in 2016, she has been impactful in advancing the department’s high-performance initiatives, bringing a collaborative and evidence-based approach to athlete support.
Heather holds credentials as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). With more than a decade of experience in sport performance, she has been active in unifying and advancing the high-performance model at UNLV.
Heather has presented at numerous sport performance conferences, with a focus on building integrated high-performance teams and optimizing return-to-play protocols. She is also deeply committed to the development of future professionals, having established a robust internship program for doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate students. This initiative bridges classroom learning with practical experience, providing students with a comprehensive and impactful foundation in applied sport science.
