With 25 years of interna0onal experience in the sports and recrea0on industry across novel
materials, technology and R&D commercialisa0on, Mar0n provides consul0ng advice and
exper0se to communi0es, companies and stakeholders in sport technology and business in
Australasia, Europe and the USA. As Board Member Alumni at the Interna0onal Sports
Technology Associa0on (ISTA) his work as the Chair of the Australian Sports Technologies
Network (ASTN) focuses on startup programs, global partnerships and export growth. He
previously worked on sports infrastructure projects across Australasia, Europe and North
America, including Olympic Games. Prior to his engagement in Australasia, Mar0n worked
in posi0ons in the USA including management posi0ons in IT, QMS and M&A. He holds a PhD
in natural science from Germany’s oldest technical university specializing in Chemical
Engineering, MSc in Chemistry and engaged in economic studies in his doctorate program.
Mar0n completed his execu0ve business educa0on at UC Berkeley Haas. In addi0on to
lecturing on sports management, entrepreneurship and innova0on, he volunteers as
President of a cross-border student exchange program. He is corresponding co-author of
the chapter ‘The Reach of Sports Technologies’ in the book ‘21st Century Sports’ and co-
contributed a chapter to the book ‘Clusters of Innova0on in the Age of Disrup0on'. He
regularly speaks on topics of the future of the business of sport and the impact of
technology.
