Dr. Charles Bernick has spent over 30 years involved, both in the clinic and in clinical research, with patients having neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s and related disorders. Among Dr. Bernick's research areas of interest, he has focused on long term effects of exposure to repetitive head impacts, including Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. Dr. Bernick is the Principal Investigator of the Professional Athletes Brain Health Study, a longitudinal study to better understand the long-term neurological effects of exposure to repetitive head impacts and co- author of the NINDS Consensus Diagnostic Criteria for Traumatic Encephalopathy Syndrome.
